Contest Prep is a hot and cold situation,you will love it and feel great for a week,then you will hate it and feel fat or small for a week.The major key is to control your mind.If you want to do your first or your hundreth contest you must have the total mind set.Dont think just because you are in better shape than the average you can compete,I witness alot of cocky half assed competiters think this stuff is easy cut a few carbs do higher reps wham im going to win it all.It never fails couple weeks before the show their minds get weak cutting carbs makes them weaker,they start to loose body fat then they think oh no im loosing muscle.First off when your dieting srength dont exist when the body fat drops so does them awesome max presses,the hell with heavy worry about muscle endurance worrying about weight will just leave you injured and once again no comepeting.Concentrate on isolating each muscle fully work out for the maximum blood flow the outstandig pump that will get you a title not benching 500lbs.Also concentrate on making your body look like an X small waist bigger upper and lower body.The #one aspect is diet and supplements,with out these to a tee you can bust as much ass as you want in the gym hell 6 hours a day and still look flat or fat.All honestly you might want to be contest ready two weeks before the show.If you like what you see maintain and follow the two weeks before that to a tee.My biggest thing that makes me prepare 110% for a show is fill out the contest entry form 3-4months ahead its something about signing that dotted line and paying the fees that makes it GAME ON ITS SHOWTIME,most likely your like me and dont want to waste time and money also its not to cool coming back home from thousands of miles away to tell everybody that talked you up that you bombed and didnt make the top 5.So moral of the story prepare yourself mentaly before physicaly.
